“I have heard that there are those who have learned through meditation and prayer to connect with the Ultimate Creator to the extent that just looking at the beauty of a flower, or a leaf, or a drop of dew sends them into ecstasy beyond description.
I think it also happens when an artist (whatever their medium) allows creative energy to flow without the interference of Ego-Mind. Occasionally I get close to that – I call it “One With the Universe” – that realization that we are all connected – that each of us is a small part of a greater whole, connected by the energy that flows through us and every person, every creature, every flower, plant, tree, weed; every rock, mountain, stream, lake and ocean and drop of rain or dew; every atom that connects with other atoms to make up the form of All That Is, interchanging with every breath of the earth.
It happens when I see the light of the morning sun on a draping of Spanish moss, dancing in the breeze. Or when I eavesdrop on the birds singing morning songs to each other. Or when I see the sun magically transform the sky into a myriad of tones and hues of blues and the trees into a billion shades of green and yellow and blue and sparkles of white.
This, for me, is Love.
